Tokyo – October 7, 2013

Continuing its drive to help printers increase profitability of offset printing, RYOBI has introduced the new RYOBI 928 perfector press with Panasonic LED-UV cure technology. The new press simultaneously changes plates, cutting makereadies to as little as eight minutes, and instantly dries print. It also dramatically reduces power consumption and chemical use.

RyobiJapanGraphicArtsShow Tokyo-largeThe new cost-saving press debuted to standing-room-only crowds of commercial printers at the Japan Graphic Arts Show in Tokyo, which concluded Saturday, Oct. 5.

Graphic Systems North America (GSNA), the recently appointed supplier of RYOBI printing presses in the U.S. and Canada, said any commercial printer considering an investment in an offset press should learn about the new RYOBI 928P with LED-UV and the entire RYOBI 920 flagship series of 16,000 sph presses.

GSNA will be discussing the new press and the full RYOBI lineup at the opening of its new showroom in metro Atlanta Oct. 28-29.

“Think about it: world-class print quality, mere minutes of make-ready and instant drying in eight-color, eight-up, 16 page signature print – all at the cost of a traditional six-color, 40″ press with coater,” said Chris Manley, a co-founder of GSNA and owner of Graphco, Cleveland. “It’s no overstatement. RYOBI is restructuring the economics of offset printing today.”

The 920 series cuts cost consumables by 25 percent, cuts energy draw by 35 percent and requires 35 percent less  floor space than a standard eight-up press, noted Wes McCallum, a co-founder of GSNA and vice president of Canadian Printing Equipment in Winnipeg. “Combine that with highly competitive pricing, plus extreme reliability that assures continuous uptime, and you get the lowest total cost of ownership of any press on the market today,” he said.
