The Sterling® Punchmaster® is a heavy-duty, high-speed Automatic Punching Machine that automatically punches paper at speeds up to 110 strokes per minute. It can punch sheets from 20" x 17" down to 5" x 5.25".

Paper is collected in the high pile receding stacker which can be re-loaded in a few minutes.

The automatic touchscreen allows for the automatic setting of the holes' rear margin. This is especially useful for binding wire bound books on fully automatic wire binders.

The Sterling® Digipunch® is an economical High-speed Automatic Paper Punching Machine designed for short-run binderies, as well as digital and commercial printers. The machine allows for punching up to 60,000 sheets per hour. That's a big pile of paper for a small machine and a half million sheets per shift.

The Sterling® Digipunch® features a variable pile lift, which allows for slowing the machine down for difficult jobs, such as stock that is curled, stock with static, or acetate. Punch sheets with covers or with tabs intermixed.

A touchscreen offers complete automatic set-up and automatic changeovers. The touchscreen takes the guesswork out of the maintenance cycle by prompting operators when it's time to lubricate or sharpen the die. Unlike many other machines, it's possible to run the machine in reverse to clear jam-ups.

Punch sheets from 4.25” X 5.5” to 12” X 14” for plastic coil, double loop wire, plastic comb, three hole- or any hole pattern. The optional drum bypass is a belt changeover system for heavy board. This will enable the sheet to be delivered without having to bend by traveling around the drum.

Stabber: The stabber can be set to stab 3 - 17 sheets. This is more consistent than punches that rely on gravity to feed the paper.
Die: The dies can be changed in seconds. Pull pins result in faster changeovers between sheet sizes.
Registration Table: This registers the paper on all four sides, using side guides and rear stops. The rear stops accommodate sheets intermixed with tabs.
Stacker: The receding stacker operates in tandem with the feeder, each of which can hold five reams of paper. The machine stops when the stacker is full.
Touchscreen: The Digipunch's touchscreen guides you through the entire punching process. You choose the paper size from a variety of pre-sets or enter a custom size. Choose how many sheets you want to punch per lift, punching less for problem stocks. The computer will track the maintenance cycle of each die that is used, prompting when to lubricate or sharpen the die. It also prompts the operator when safety covers are open. The manual is contained in the touchscreen computer with a variety of tips and tricks to make the operation of the machine quick and easy.

The Sterling® Punchmaster® is a High-speed Automatic Paper Punching Machine and the paragon of automatic punching, considering its speed and versatility. It will punch for double-loop wire binding, spiral, plastic coil binding, T-slots, or plastic comb binding faster than any automatic punch on the market. It will also punch double row wrap around covers, windows, door hangers, and tags. The machine can punch any shape hole, anywhere on the sheet.

Punch at 130 strokes per minute or 125,000 sheets per hour on the Sterling® Punchmaster®. The machine employs four-way registration to ensure dead on accuracy. The Punchmaster can be pre-loaded while running so that the operator is free to off-load the sheets and deliver them to the binder. The shingling of the sheets on the variable-speed conveyor maximizes efficiency and facilitates quality control. An air feeder is available enabling the punching of: heavy board, signatures, or special stock. A jogger may be added to the system by simply lifting up the delivery tray and placing the jogger at the end of the conveyor. Since the Punchmaster is built in the United States, parts are readily available.

The Punchmaster will punch signatures or single sheets from 4” x 5” cards all the way up to 20” x 22” calendars. Punch a variety of stock such as: paper, board, plastic, vinyl, or leather as well as aluminum sheets.

This machine can handle a greater variety of jobs than any other punch and can produce many products that are die-cut more quickly and cleanly without the need for stripping. It can also punch many jobs that would otherwise have to be punched manually. If you cannot punch it on the Punchmaster, it cannot be punched automatically. Punch it all with the Punchmaster.

Stabber: The stabber stabs a lift of paper, adjustable between 2 and 30 sheets, and pulls the paper into the belts irrespective of wave, curl or static.
Lifter Stabber: The optional lifter stabber lifts the paper prior to stabbing. This is especially useful when punching thicker stock that can split.
Die: The punch-through die allows for punching anywhere on the sheet, useful for windows, door hangers & wrap around covers. The sheet passes through the die and then into the turn around drum.
Air Feeder: The optional air feeder is designed to feed signatures, board, plastic, leather, or even pocket folders. It lifts one sheet or signature at a time, prior to feeding it into the belts.
Calendar Hole Punch Attachment: Punch hanger holes on the face of a calendar while simultaneously punching a hole pattern on the spine of the sheet. This option can be retrofitted to existing Punchmasters.
Micro Die Adjustment: The patented Micro Die Adjustment allows you to "fine tune" the centering of a sheet. It can move the die side-to-side in increments less than .010” (.25 mm).
Drum Bypass: The optional drum bypass is a belt changeover system for heavy board. This will enable the sheet to be delivered without having to bend by traveling around the drum.
Corner Perforation Attachment: Punch corner perforation holes while simultaneously punching a hole pattern on the spine of the sheet. This option can be retrofitted to existing Punchmaster machines.

Sterling Coilmaker – Plastic Coil Former

Making plastic coil just prior to insertion puts an end to working with twisted and deformed coil or coil with an improper pitch. Freshly made coil binds books more easily than coil taken out of a box. Cut the filament to the exact size you need, when you need it and cut down on waste, excess, and on storage. The cost of manufacturing coil is significantly less expensive than buying it preformed.

The Sterling® Coilmaker forms high quality plastic coil from plastic filament. This is achieved through the use of three axles pressing the filament against the forming mandrel as the coil is formed. Other coil formers only use two axles to press against the mandrel. This can cause "wobble" and produce coil that is not uniformly round, especially on larger sizes. This technology is why most of the plastic coil in America is made on this machine. The patented conveyor system ensures sufficient cooling time to make the most uniform coil available. The coil cools while it is still straight instead of laying twisted in a box. The heating element is infinitely variable to compensate for the ambient temperature at any given location. Tooling for sizes up to 50 mm is available for The COILMAKER.

Sterling Coilmaster III – In-line Plastic Coil Binding Machine

The Sterling® Coilmaster III® is a complete, In-line Plastic Coil Binding Machine. Plastic filament is fed into the Coilmaker from a spool. It forms plastic coil on a mandrel within the Coilmaker. The formed coils are automatically fed into the Coilmaster®, which spins the coil into the book from the first hole onwards. The coil is then cut and crimped automatically. One operator can create coil and bind books at speeds up to 700 books per hour at the same time.

The Sterling® Coilmaster III® is a heavy-duty automatic plastic coil binder designed for high production. This machine binds books from .31” (8 mm) in diameter to 1.25” (32 mm) in diameter and up to 1.96” (50 mm) in diameter with the optional thick book attachment. Spiral bind books as small as 4” x 4” (10.16 cm x 10.16 cm) up to calendars 17" long. The machine can also be modified to handle larger books such as art pads.

The Coilmaster® III inserter is the only coil binding machine with a patented spreading device that allows for binding books with head and foot margins of up to 3/16” (4.7mm). It is possible to choose the size of your margin. No matter what size the book is, the Coilmaster III® plastic coil binding machine will allow you to center the hole pattern on the sheet. This is especially important on odd sized books.

The Sterling® Coilmaster Jr. TS is a Tabletop Automatic Plastic Coil Binding Machine. It inserts plastic spiral from the first hole onwards, then cuts and crimps automatically.
